Cookie and Storage Policy

TRIPPSITTER cookie, local storage, session storage, payment, preference, and advertising-cookie practices, and how to control them.

Reviewed 27 July 2026 · By TRIPPSITTER Editorial Team

This policy explains how TRIPPSITTER uses cookies, browser local storage, session storage, and similar technologies. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

What we use

We use browser local storage and session storage to maintain your authentication state, preferences, and session data. We may also use essential first-party cookies for security and core functionality.

Strictly necessary storage

Required for the platform to work at all: keeping you signed in, securing sessions, and maintaining real-time connections for chat and notifications. These cannot be switched off, because without them the service you requested does not function.

Preference storage

Remembers choices you have made, such as language, theme and display settings, and companion discovery filters, so you do not have to set them again on each visit.

Payment storage

When you pay through Razorpay, their checkout may set session cookies required for secure transaction processing. Those are governed by Razorpay own cookie policy rather than this one.

Third-party advertising cookies

We do not display third-party advertising by default. Where advertising is shown it is provided by Google AdSense, which may place or read cookies, use web beacons, collect IP addresses, and use other identifiers for ad serving and measurement. We show such advertising only after you consent through a separate in-app prompt, and you can decline; declining keeps advertising cookies off. We never sell personal data to data brokers. You can review how Google uses data when you use partner sites or apps at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

How long storage lasts

Session storage is cleared when you close the browser tab. Local storage persists until you clear browser data or log out. Authentication tokens expire and are refreshed automatically.

Your choices and control

Log out to clear authentication tokens. Clear your browser local storage or use the Clear Site Data function. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings, though blocking essential storage will log you out and may stop core features working. For non-essential cookies that require consent, including the advertising cookies used by Google AdSense, we ask separately and you can decline at any time.
