Law Enforcement Requests
How law enforcement authorities can submit valid legal requests for TRIPPSITTER user data, what makes a request valid, emergency handling, user notice, and data preservation.

This policy explains how TRIPPSITTER responds to requests for user data from law enforcement and government authorities. We aim to protect our members privacy while complying with our legal obligations.
Who may request data
We disclose user information only to authorised law enforcement agencies, courts, or government authorities with valid legal authority, and only to the extent required by applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What a valid request requires
A lawful order, notice, summons, warrant, or written request issued under applicable law by a competent authority. The legal basis for the request and the specific data sought. Sufficient detail to identify the account or accounts, for example the exact username, email, or user ID. The official identity and contact details of the requesting officer or authority, on official letterhead or through an official channel. We review each request for legal validity and scope, and we may reject, narrow, or seek clarification on requests that are overbroad, vague, or not legally valid.
Emergency requests
In cases involving an imminent risk of death or serious physical harm, we may disclose limited information to law enforcement on an expedited basis where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent the harm, consistent with applicable law. Emergency requests should clearly identify the nature and immediacy of the risk.
User notice
Our policy is to notify members about requests for their information where we are permitted to do so, so that they may seek to challenge the request. We will not give notice where we are legally prohibited from doing so, or where we believe notice would create a risk to safety, to an investigation, or to another person.
Data preservation and retention
On receipt of a valid preservation request we may preserve relevant account records for the period required by law while a formal legal request is obtained. We retain and disclose only what is reasonably necessary to comply.
How to submit a request
Email support@trippsitter.com with the subject line LAW ENFORCEMENT REQUEST, including enough detail to identify the account, content, or trip involved. Location: India. This policy is provided for transparency. It does not waive any legal right or protection available to TRIPPSITTER or its members, nor does it create any obligation beyond what applicable law requires.
