These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of TRIPPSITTER, a travel social platform operated from India. By accessing or using the platform you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
They contain important information about your legal rights and obligations, including limitations of liability, a disclaimer of warranties, indemnification, and dispute resolution. The full document is available on this page; this summary is not a substitute for reading it.
Nature of the platform
TRIPPSITTER is an online intermediary that facilitates social interaction, trip planning, and travel companion matching. We act as an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. We do not organise, operate, or provide travel services, and we are not a travel agency, tour operator, transport provider, or accommodation provider. Interactions, meetups, and travel arrangements between members are at their own risk and responsibility.
Eligibility and account responsibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, and by creating one you represent that you are. If we find an account belongs to someone under 18 we terminate it and delete the personal data. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential, for all activity under your account, and for the accuracy of the information you provide. Accounts may not be shared, sold, or transferred.
Your content and the licence you grant
You are solely responsible for everything you post, including posts, stories, photos, videos, comments, messages, profile information, and trip plans. You retain ownership of your content while granting TRIPPSITTER a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute it for the purpose of operating and improving the platform. Public content may be seen by people without an account and may appear in search results. We do not endorse member content and disclaim liability arising from it.
Companion matching disclaimer
The Humsafar companion matching feature carries an explicit disclaimer. TRIPPSITTER does not conduct background checks or criminal-record verification of any member. We assume no liability for interactions, meetups, travel arrangements, or incidents between members who connect through the platform. Your safety during in-person meetings is your own responsibility, and we give no guarantee about the character, intentions, truthfulness, or conduct of any member.
What identity verification does and does not mean
Verification is optional. A badge indicates only that, at the time of review, a submitted identity document appeared facially valid and reasonably consistent with a submitted selfie. It is not a background check, criminal-record check, sex-offender-registry check, character reference, or assurance that a member is safe or is who they claim to be. Documents can be forged or fraudulently obtained and reviewers can err. A badge may be granted, withheld, suspended, or revoked at our discretion and creates no duty of care.
Prohibited conduct and moderation
Sexually explicit material, violence and gore, harassment, hate speech, impersonation, spam, fraud, illegal activity, malware, unauthorised scraping, circumventing moderation, doxxing, and stalking are prohibited. We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to review, moderate, remove, or restrict content and to suspend or terminate accounts. We use automated systems to detect inappropriate content and report unlawful material to the authorities.
Subscriptions, liability, and disputes
Premium subscriptions bill in advance and renew automatically until cancelled; payments are processed by Razorpay. Liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law, subject to rights that cannot be excluded, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. The platform is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. These Terms are governed by the laws of India, with informal resolution first, then arbitration seated in Delhi, and courts in Delhi retaining exclusive jurisdiction where applicable.
