Grievance Redressal

How users can raise policy, safety, content, privacy, and account grievances with TRIPPSITTER, who the Grievance Officer is, and the statutory timelines we work to.

Reviewed 27 July 2026 · By TRIPPSITTER Editorial Team

This Grievance Redressal Policy is published in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

It explains what you can raise with us, how to raise it, who handles it, and the timelines we work to.

What you can raise

Content that violates our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines. Harassment, impersonation, or safety concerns about another member. Privacy or personal-data concerns and requests under the DPDP Act, 2023. Complaints relating to payments, subscriptions, or refunds. Requests to remove unlawful content or content that infringes your rights.

How to file a grievance

Send your complaint to our Grievance Officer with enough detail for us to act on it: your name and the email or username registered to your account, a clear description of the issue and what you would like us to do, links, usernames, screenshots, or other evidence where available, and for content removal, the specific content and the reason it is unlawful or violates our policies. Please use the subject line GRIEVANCE so your complaint is routed correctly.

Our timelines

We acknowledge your grievance within 24 hours of receipt. We resolve it within 15 days, and in any case within the timeframes required by applicable law. We act to remove or disable access to unlawful content within 36 hours of receiving a valid order from an appropriate government authority or court, as required under the IT Rules, 2021. Complaints about content that exposes an individual in the nature of impersonation, or that is sexual in nature, are handled on a priority basis, within 24 hours where required by law.

Escalation

If you are not satisfied with the resolution you may reply to your grievance reference requesting escalation. For data-protection matters you may also approach the Data Protection Board of India once constituted under the DPDP Act, 2023. For consumer matters you may approach the National Consumer Helpline on 1915 or the appropriate consumer forum. Unlawful cyber activity may be reported at cybercrime.gov.in.

Urgent safety matters

A grievance is not an emergency channel. For an urgent platform safety concern email support@trippsitter.com with SAFETY in the subject line. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first; in India the integrated emergency number is 112.
