This Privacy Policy explains how TRIPPSITTER collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use the platform, including trip planning, posts, stories, voice and video calls, companion matching, and premium subscriptions.

TRIPPSITTER is operated from India. By using the platform you consent to the practices described here, in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

What we collect

Information you provide includes registration details such as name, email, phone number, date of birth and gender, profile information, uploaded content, chat messages, trip planning data, companion matching preferences, payment confirmations, identity verification documents where submitted, and support requests. Collected automatically: device information, log data including IP address and access times, location where you grant permission, usage analytics, and call metadata such as duration and timestamps. Call content is not recorded. We also receive authentication data from Google or Apple sign-in if you use it.

How we use it

To create and manage your account, operate and improve platform features, facilitate trip planning and companion matching, enable messaging and calls, process payments, run automated content moderation, send notifications, provide location-based features, enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines, detect and prevent fraud and security incidents, comply with legal obligations under Indian law, and communicate service updates.

Automated content moderation

We use a two-layer system. A lightweight check may run in your browser as a fast first filter, and media you upload is also scanned on our servers by a third-party moderation service, which may process it outside India, for nudity, sexual content, and apparent child sexual abuse material. Content flagged as explicit may be blocked or removed. Suspected child sexual abuse material is quarantined, reviewed by a trained team, preserved as evidence, and may be reported to law enforcement and child-safety authorities as required by law. Human review is limited to content that is flagged or reported.

Third parties and sub-processors

We engage a limited number of service providers under contractual obligations to safeguard data and use it only as we specify. These cover database, authentication, storage and realtime services; payment processing; optional social login; error monitoring; automated image moderation; transactional email; application hosting; and advertising. The full document names each provider, its purpose, and its operating location, and notes which may process data outside India.

Advertising and cookies

We use local storage, session storage, and essential cookies to keep you signed in and maintain core functionality. We do not display third-party advertising by default. Where it is enabled, advertising is served by Google AdSense, which may place or read cookies, use web beacons, collect IP addresses, and use other identifiers for ad serving and measurement. We request consent through a separate prompt you can decline, and declining keeps advertising cookies off. You can review how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Retention and deletion

Account data is kept while your account is active. You may deactivate at any time, which hides the account but keeps it recoverable by logging back in. Requesting deletion deactivates the account immediately and permanently deletes it after a 30-day grace period, which you can cancel by logging in. After that, your profile, posts, trips, matches, and messages are erased from active systems and cannot be recovered. Backups are purged within 90 days. Transaction records may be retained up to 7 years for Indian tax and financial requirements, and limited records may be kept for safety and fraud investigation.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you have rights to access, correction and erasure, grievance redressal, nomination, and withdrawal of consent. If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, additional rights apply including objection, restriction, and data portability, and we identify the lawful basis for each processing purpose. Send requests to support@trippsitter.com, or grievance@trippsitter.com for a formal grievance. Our Grievance Officer acknowledges within 24 hours and aims to resolve within 15 days.

Security and age restriction

We use encryption in transit and at rest, hashed passwords, row-level database security policies, access controls on a need-to-know basis, and automated monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. The platform is only for people aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
